Brainfuse – provides live, certified educators and navigators for the following populations:

JobNow:  Seven days a week from 2 pm to 11 pm for application, résumé and cover letter writing, job searches and interview practice.  Available now.

VetNow:  Monday through Friday, from 2 pm to 11 pm for assistance to veterans in navigating Department of Veteran Affairs benefits, paperwork, programs, etc.  Available now.

HelpNow:  Seven days a week from 2 pm to 11 pm for live, certified educator assistance for homework, research, and writing in all subjects for grades K-college.  Access begins 9/1/21.

Learn how to change the primary interface language, translate articles, and use the audio functions for non-native English speakers, those with visual impairments, etc., in this video.

Junior Library Guild Digital:

JLGDigital provides unlimited synchronous ebook collections for students K-12 that features new content each month.  This subscription is only good until 09/30/2022, as it is provided as a pandemic response to support at home reading and summer reading.

Just For Kids: 

Ad-free streaming quality educational videos, from read-alouds to tv shows like Arthur and the Berenstain Bears.  Device agnostic, mobile friendly.

OverDrive:

Downloadable eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eZines.

Rocket Languages:

Foreign language, American Sign Language and Citizenship Prep – asynchronous learning.

Universal Class:

Self-paced, accredited courses on everything from dog walking to computer technology to small business skills.

World Book – Early Learning:

General knowledge database for preschool-2nd grade; games, activities; learning support.

Funding & Contract Periods

The following resources are available for the contract periods listed below:

Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Funded Resources:

Current contracts may be renewed until 2023; we are required to rebid in 2022 for the 2023 year. These funds are renewed annually but Congress via the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

EBSCO (Explora is just the interface, not really a product) All of these resources are contracted annually from 10/1 to 9/30.  We have one renewal left on these contracts so will be required by Virginia law to rebid them all for FY23.  The mix may change as a result.

Brainfuse All of these resources are contracted until 9/30/2022, the allowable period for ARPA projects.  We do intend to keep Just For Kids Video as a regular part of the LSTA Funded projects above.  WE HOPE we’ll be able to get the workforce development related products, pending appropriate  usage.
