Get the Most Out of Find It VA

Starting in February 2022, you can join your colleagues on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 1-1:30 pm to find out how to get the most out of the Find it VA resources from the Library of Virginia. Each training will look at best practices for using the resources as well as at who can most benefit from them. It is a great opportunity to get more familiar with all the great Find it VA resources available to you and your users.   • Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative
    • Learn how to think like an entrepreneur in this self-paced, online modular business learning environment for anyone looking to build a business, transform their organization, or reinvent their career.

  • Just for Kids: Access Video
    • The Just for Kids Collection gives children—and their parents—a thoroughly kid-safe, advertisement-free media platform they can freely explore and enjoy. Just for Kids has the educational videos children want to watch, plus songs, games, and other interactives that are sure to entertain, educate, and inspire young patrons.

  • Homework HelpNow
    • HelpNow offers live tutor access for homework help, skills building and test preparation as well as a writing lab, practice tests, and more. In the Adult Learning users can access High School Equivalency prep, Citizenship test prep, and Career Resources.

  • Gale in Context: Elementary
    • Gale in Context: Elementary provides children in grades K5 with age-appropriate content including reference articles, magazines, newspapers, biographies, and multimedia materials.

  • JobNow/VetNow
    • JobNow and VetNow feature live online coaches who can assist in resume/cover letter preparation and help patrons prepare for job interviews and navigate VA benefits eligibility and transitioning from military to civilian life.

  • NoveList Plus
    • From individual readers to book groups, you can use NoveList to discover your next favorite author, series, or title. Find book recommendations, author information, reviews, and more, as well as training on how to be a better readers’ advisor.

  • Gale Legal Forms
    • Gale LegalForms provides users with up to date, customizable legal documents in many major categories including real estate, divorce, estate planning, business, and sample letters. Each form can be customized with patron information and printed.

  • MasterFILE/Explora/Read It
    • Explora is a user-friendly search tool that supports both research and instruction, and searches: MasterFILE Complete – A comprehensive collection of full-text general interest articles from periodicals, newspapers, and books, and Read It! – Read It! helps students who have a basic foundation in English grammar and reading but need level-appropriate reading material. Read It! is also a great tool for English Language Learners.
