COVID has changed how libraries interact with patrons. Due to closures and social distancing restrictions, most programming, events, and even library access has been moved online.

This interactive and informative presentation will discuss reaching multiple audiences via social media; maintaining a connection with those audiences online; maintaining contact with traditional library audiences during time of closures and reduced services; how to sustain asynchronous and synchronous programming after COVID. What’s working online and why.

As a result of this program, attendees will learn:

  • Evaluating if the use of social media is complimenting other outreach/publicity

  • Understanding Social Media analytics and how they relate to the audience

  • Decoding Social Media insights so leadership/board understands the relevance to your program/library.

  • Maintaining online presence after services return to in-person models. Is it important? Why or Why not?
