Whether you are beginning your job or enjoying a long term career, changing careers, or close to retirement, you will optimize your personal time spent in professional development if you learn to plan consciously, make your plan known to your supervisor, make yourself accountable for your professional development and keep good records of your experiences in training, classes, conferences, etc. Learn to make a professional goal setting plan that is driven by your personal needs for growth in your own performance.

About the Speaker:
Elizabeth Woodard worked as a School Library Media Specialist and Teacher Specialist with Norfolk Public Schools for 11 years and as Librarian for a Norfolk private school for 7 years. Since 2013 she has been working with Norfolk Public Library, first as Electronic Resources Manager, then as Public Services Manager and currently as Training and Technology Administrator. She has always been involved in or responsible for staff collaboration and training; advocating for excellent customer service in libraries, which she believes happens when staff is respected, updated, and collaborated with.
