Early Literacy Activity Center
The early literacy activity center is a project that places educational items in the library to support learning and play.  The Library of Virginia, with funds from IMLS has supported this program with exchanges and replacement of items.  We have made the difficult decision to no longer coordinate exchanges or offer replacement for missing or worn items.  On September 13, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. at the Library of Virginia we will offer the opportunity for library staff go through our remaining supplies and select items to support learning a play.  Item may not be taken with the intent to use as gifts or prizes.  There will not be a special preview and we will not set aside items to be picked up before or after September 13.

STEM and Library Conference
The Library of Virginia and the Science Museum of Virginia are partnering to host the first STEM and Libraries Conference in Virginia.  The event will span three days in September at the Science Museum of Virginia.  Registration for the September 12-14 conference will be limited to 150 people.
