Notes for Incoming Libraries
Consortial cataloging can be a hard reality for those who are used to customizing bib records to best meet the searching needs of our patrons. Details that were previously added to fields such as title or edition can be inserted as a 5xx note.
Training for new EG catalogers (even experienced catalogers migrating into the consortium) will be trained on the Virginia Evergreen Libraries Catalog and will stress the importance of standardized records.
Member libraries are kept informed through a listserv at email@example.com. Participating libraries use this listserv to post and answer questions. One other listserv is for catalogers. If you would like to join any of these lists please contact the Virginia Evergreen Project Manager.
